My 15-year-old Kenmore 80 was making a horrible screeching sound. When I opened it up and turned the motor by hand the sound was obviously coming from the motor - not the rollers. I ordered this replacement and it took about 30 minutes to install. It was a perfect match with my old motor, so no rewiring was necessary. I'm glad because the diagrams were a bit hard to understand. In order to know if your motor reeds rewired, just look at the little box that all the wires plug into. If the switch box is the same shape as the one on your old motor then just plug it in and go. The instructions show a picture of the alternate switch box - very different shape. Now my dryer runs perfectly and it only cost $60. I haven't noticed any significant increase in noise. Five stars!

Replaced my motor in my Kenmore 80 series dryer. Part was a perfect fit and saved me 80 dollars from a local supplier. Out of the box the unit had a very strong odor, I left in the the garage over night still strong. After repair the odor was stronger. Dont really want the smell in my clothes.
