The seal was not the one pictured, was completely unlike the previous seal, and apparently is completely ineffective. Less than one month of use and the bearings are already blown due to seal failure.

Review : Machine runs better than when it was new

The bearings and seal kit worked as advertised. Our Kenmore HE 3t Machine is over 10 yrs old. My husband and I installed the bearings with help from youtube videos; started and completed in one Saturday; also replaced the 4 shocks at the bottom, 2 springs on the top, and the belt for the motor and basket pulley; it operates extremely smooth; no knocking sounds at the beginning and end of the spinning in all cycles. Machine runs better than when it was new. We spent less than a $150 and practically overhauled the entire stabilizing system on our machine. Hope to get another 10 years out of it. Replacing the bearings and seal does take a little mechanical experience and is not for the beginner.

Since my washing machine was "taking off like a jet plane" I assumed it was the bearings as suggested in videos online. The cost of the bearings ($25) is negligible relative to the work of installing them. After taking the machine apart it became apparent that the motor driver had actually burnt out. My son installed the bearings and then a used motor and the washing machine works exceedingly well. It is possible that the old bearings were good but we didn't want to chance it. The bearings were delivered quickly, installed and worked nicely and I would buy them again if necessary. A good product at a reasonable price.
