Beware of LG! Do your research first and save yourself some trouble.
We purchased an LG Front loading washing machine that opened up during a wash cycle and LG is refusing to cover any of the damages to our home. This is particularly egregious because LG is aware that if their front loading machines over fill with water that the door will pop open. LG is knowingly selling front loading washers that will open if, for whatever reason, they get too full of water.

UDPATE: Interestingly when I tried to post the same review feedback below to LG's website, they rejected it :)

Good product, but be VERY careful about how you want to handle issues. While LG supposed makes better quality products from their competitors however I've been warned by many about their terrible services. I figured that if I had a the best product I wouldn't need service and worst case likely it'll happen during warranty.

The product works great, we're very happy with it. The dryer however had a busted bulb since the day we bought it. I called LG service and gave them the details, serial number, date of purchase (it was less than 75 days old). I was categorically told that the bulb was a "consumable" item and not covered by warranty. I called back and chatted about 6 times after being hung up on 3 times, denied warranty coverage 3 times and finally had to give up. I'll be filing a complaint with the BBB.

Purchased from a local Speed Queen dealer. I would highly recommend this product.
You have choices!!! You can select the amount of water you want, choose to save water or not, choose to per-soak a load, to rinse 1-3 times,optional favorite settings mode, it also offers water saving options (echo wash), etc.
This machine offers short cycles about 30 minutes. YEA!!! I have clean clothing, (That doesn't smell like mold/puke/armpits... after it has been washed UN-like laundry washed in HE machines...).
Clean and fresh smelling clothing. Boy, have I missed that for the past 10 years, trying one HE machine after another (9 in all) each of then lasting as little as 6 to 14 months before they broke down and/or had been repaired so many times they were replaced as lemons. Countless (5 year repair/replacement polices) all worthless. But the Speed Queen washer includes a 5 year warranty, it's made in the USA, so I won't have to hear parts are unavailable, any more. No wrinkles. No smell. As much water as I want. Has an agitator. Best warranty in the business. USA product. Quiet. Has a fabric dispenser. Love the digital timer. You can read the time left to wash. Bells and whistles. The other review gives more detailed information. There is no other washer on the market that can do what this one can. There`s a couple of other HE washers that have an over ride for the water but have no agitator. They continue to buy those and then post complaints. Geez! Just buy this one.

Review : Almost perfect
I do love MOST things about this washer. I previously had a Kenmore Elite Calypso Top Loading HE for 12 years. I wanted to get back to an agitator/fill-with-water type washer because I didn't feel my clothes were getting as clean. Odd thing about this Speed Queen though, is in the User's Manual, it directs you to use a low-sudsing HE detergent (see picture!) Of course I read this after I'd gone out just to buy regular detergent and used it in the four loads I've done so far with fine results. I even ran an extra rinse cycle on this last load just to see if there was any remaining soap, but none of note. I will try it with the HE detergent that I have on hand to see if it still cleans well.

Pros for this washer:
- Will fill to the top on Extra Large setting.
- The lid does not lock. You can open the lid at any time during the entire wash/rinse/spin cycle.
- Very short wash times.
- CLEAN laundry! Can actually smell the clean. Didn't notice the...

I love this dryer. It works perfectly for my small space ( 699 sq foot condo with washer and dryer in a small galley style kitchen).
The dryer is not very loud at all, and it dries an average load in 45 minutes or less, has been my experience. Of course, common sense is necessary. In order for it to dry thoroughly and leave the clothes fairly wrinkle free, the load should be about up to the halfway point in the drum. One main reason I picked this dryer is because it is 110 volt, so I could just plug it into an existing outlet, no extra electrical work or expense. I have it sitting atop my small refrigerator. The instructions said it isn't "suitable" for that, but it is working just fine and is very stable, so I am fine with it. I wanted to wait a couple of months before I give a formal review on this product. This dryer went beyond my expectations. First of all I wanted to comment of the customer service of this Amazon seller , who was very kind and professional. This dryer is very compact and for a household of 5 people in New York City it helped and did the job right. I was told that these compact dryers take hours to dry clothes and I found that to be false and even with a full load of dark clothes this dryer dried the clothes In less then two hours. You do have to clean the filter as often as you can but you don't need to clean after every use. It can be moved around easily and it did come with a wall mount but I'm having a hard time installing because the wall I want to use is titled and might not hold the dryer. We bought this Panda Tumble Dryer (8.8lbs version) a few weeks ago.
Ordered it very shortly after we received the Panda Twin Tub 10lb washer/spinner.

And we love it.

My wife and I live in Manhattan, and set up our Panda Washer/Spinner in the closet next to our bathroom.
After cleaning out the closet, we managed to make space for the dryer as well, and it has officially become our personal laundry room.

I was initially concerned that this 8.8lbs capacity dryer would be too small, since we have the 10lb washer... and we all know that if you stuff a dryer over full, it will take forever to dry. But that isn't the case. We use the washer's built-in spinner for both a rinse cycle (~3 mins) and a spin cycle (~3 mins)... which effectively 'wrings out' a vast majority of the water leaving everything damp. The dryer does it's job very well, drying a normal load in about an hour. Sure when it's stuffed full with jeans and heavy clothes it'll takes two...

I live in an apartment with no washer hook-up and have been looking for something like this for a long time. I hate going to the laundromat: shady people, unsafe at night, clothes come out dirty with detergent stuck on them--need I say more? This is a great little machine for washing small items (full cycle runs for 35 minutes). One load can take 4-5 T-shirts with a couple of personal items like undergarments or socks (basically, about a day's load of clothes). It has three rinse cycles and gets the detergent out completely. As the description says, it does not have a spin cycle so clothes remain wet. I use it with a laundry alternative spin dryer that wrings out all the water. Would not recommend to a large family, only to those looking for a personal washer.

Very quiet, and unlike other mini washers, fully automatic. I wear formal clothes to work, and this machine is perfect for them. No more draining and rinsing! No more hand-washing!

My 15-year-old Kenmore 80 was making a horrible screeching sound. When I opened it up and turned the motor by hand the sound was obviously coming from the motor - not the rollers. I ordered this replacement and it took about 30 minutes to install. It was a perfect match with my old motor, so no rewiring was necessary. I'm glad because the diagrams were a bit hard to understand. In order to know if your motor reeds rewired, just look at the little box that all the wires plug into. If the switch box is the same shape as the one on your old motor then just plug it in and go. The instructions show a picture of the alternate switch box - very different shape. Now my dryer runs perfectly and it only cost $60. I haven't noticed any significant increase in noise. Five stars!

Review : Love this new machine....!
After our front load washer broke 4 times in 8 years, I decided it was time for a change. Now I can only wonder why we didn't do this sooner!

After pouring over reviews and consumer ratings on multiple sites/sources for days, I finally decided to purchase this machine for several reasons. Hopefully, the amount of research I did prior to our purchase can help someone else limit theirs. ;)

The first reason I chose this machine is because it's a top loader. I never loved our front loading machine because of the maintenance requirements, and consistent stale smell from wet lint, dog hair etc. that would be left behind in the rubber gasket.

The next reason was because this model has a soak cycle available. When I gave up 'soaking' at the time we purchased our front loading machine, I had no idea how much I would miss having it. With active kids, sports stains, etc, it was a must-have for us.

The last reasons I selected this machine was it's huge...
Review : I can tell that I am easily entertained

I can tell that I am easily entertained. We got the new clothes washer today, an LG WT5680HWA top loader, from Lowes. It has a glass lid and you can see everything going on inside. It is like a TV with only one channel. Mesmerizing!

And it is blessedly quiet! The old whirlpool cabrio washer water valves were screaming like a banshee. And the tub bottom bearing was going out and seemingly causing the entire house to vibrate in sympathy. All in all, not worth fixing in my opinion.

The delivery guy told my wife that people are swapping their front loaders for top loaders due to the constant mildew problems with the front loaders.

The LG does require the new HE detergent and prefers liquid. So I bought two gallons jugs of Cheer HE liquid over at HEB for $8 each tonight.

Review : Love the quiet!
This review encompasses both the LG Washer/Dryer I purchased. I have been shopping for a larger capacity and QUIETER (main requirement) washer/dryer combination. Was replacing a pair of 6-yr old Maytag appliances and although they still worked well, the noise was annoying. After a couple of months shopping, comparing, and watching prices fall I settled on the LG DLEX5680W (Dryer) and WT5680HWA (washer).

Recommendations: Read the manuals (LOL) and you will find them quite easy to operate.

Washer: EXCEPTIONALLY QUIET! Have only done a few loads so far but with the door to the laundry room open and me sitting in the living room (30’ away) I only hear the bells telling me the load is done. Seems to clean clothes as good as any other washers, will be trying comforters soon.

Dryer: EXCEPTIONALLY QUIET! Seems like my drying time has been reduced by about 20% and am looking forward to the larger drying capacities.

Tip: This set is SMALLER than...

Review : Yes! I love this set up! This set is a cut above the previous renditions...and I couldn't be happier.
I bought these with the stands--I am 5'9" and my boyfriend is 6'2"...

I have an upstairs laundry room. This requires a pan and drain. The pan lip is 3" high, and makes the drawer of the stand unusable. This is a big bummer and poor design, especially given that this washer is designed with vibration reduction technology for upstairs laundry rooms.

That said, this washer cleans your clothes like NOTHING else. I am amazed. I had no clue how dingy our clothing was! It is fast, efficient, (water and gas bills are super low), and let's face it--these units look stellar in the laundry room.

The dryer is quick, but does put off some heat--so I run the ceiling vent fan while it's running. This keeps the house from warming up from the dryer.

Both units are quiet, and don't interfere with our sleep, if I'm running it at night.

The "done" chimes are a melody, so if your brain is like mine, and ignores simple beeps,...
Review : Filter is a Floodgate

Just a note about the filter that you are supposed to clean once a month: have a big towel handy. An astonishing amount of water runs out when you unscrew the filter, and poor design makes it run right into the drawer stand below it. I keep extension cords, adapters, and timers in there and they were swimming. So you're mopping up water with one hand and holding a slimy filter in the other. Big fun. So open the drawer first, position the towel (folded into several thicknesses) under the filter hatch, then unscrew the filter. Now sit there and catch water for 3 minutes. Other than that, this washer runs fine. There is no smelly washer problem with this model, and none of my fellow front loader users believe me when I tell them that!

Review : Nice units but poor reliability.
Samsung top of the line product, falls short of expectations.

Indeed both washer and dryer from Samsung are beautiful units and a wonder as long as they work.!
We purchased these units in September of 2014.

After less 6 weeks of use the dryer has faulted, and will not run. The dryer unit will start for about 5 seconds but stops with the electronic timer continuing to count down. We have tried To trouble shoot the problem every way we can, but unfortunately this model has very little service history record available. You would think something like this is easy to fix.? Not so with the complicated electronics and circuitry in unit!

We hope this is an isolated case and we may have a "lemon". However we are hearing that other customers who
may have brought This product recently may have had similar issues.

Android based samsung care app identifies this problem as an open door error. However technicians have looked into this...

Review : Possible design flaw
I couldn't be happier with the company I purchased this from and the great shipping time in which it was delivered. I will say that this drain pump could be constructed a little better. I purchased this pump to fix the loud whining coming from my washer. Install is a snap but there is an issue I noticed which is what caused the original pump to fail as well. In each of these pumps, between the metal platform and the pulley, is metal collar which I assume is supposed to protect the bearings. The loud whining from my washer initially was this same collar being forced into the metal platform and slowly grinding it's way through. After one wash with the new pump, the washer started making the same sound. After taking it apart sure enough the new pumps collar was trying to grind it's way through the platform again. It could be just two bad pumps but I'm wondering why the collar is even there when it's the problem. Before you buy a new pump -assuming you're buying a new pump to fix a loud...
Review : Piece of junk. To NOT buy, possible design flaw!

I bought this pump to replaced a pump on my Maytag washer that has lasted 10 years before screeching only to have this pump to the exact same thing after 2 months. Now I have to mail it back for a refund at my expense. What a total joke. There is a metal collar that fits down inside the pulley presumably to keep the bearing held in place. It works it's way up when spinning and then grinds into the bottom of the black metal housing around the plastic pump. If this goes on too long, it can burn through the metal and then into the plastic pump thus creating a huge mess by leaking water everywhere. It is also a fire hazard. Another smart reviewer said to remove this metal collar but I cannot speak to that as I have not done it.

It seems to me that they would implement some type of cover to lock that metal collar into place. They should fire the idiot that designed this pump. What a waste of time and money.

Review : Pump fell apart after one week

Received washer pump promptly from Seneca River Trading however pump fell apart after one week. I ran exactly two loads of laundry before pump started squealing like a harpooned pig. Upon examination, a piece of metal between the pulley and shaft had worked its way loose and was rubbing on the body of the pump thus a complete failure.

I contacted Amazon for a replacement but was informed I had to send back (at my expense) the pump and would be awarded a refund, not a replacement. Am still waiting for the refund.

Review : Huge and beautiful washing machine washes quickly and efficiently
I purchased this washing machine locally about one month ago. While my family is small (just my husband and myself as well as my toddler grandson part time), I needed a washing machine that could wash my king size quilt collection adequately and quickly. My prior Whirlpool was a nightmare - it could never find its balance and took hours to complete the smallest loads. After three years of struggling with it and having repairmen tell me it was not something that could be fixed, we bought this new machine for our Christmas gift to ourselves. We bought the white set as it was less expensive but must admit the gray set is stunning. If it would have gone well with our house, we probably would have spent the extra to get the beautiful look. The washer is essentially the same - the color of the body is gloss white and the color of the electrical panel is silver rather than dark gray.
