I recently decided that I don't want to use our communal washer and dryer in my apartment building because of GERMS so I began to put together a system for doing my laundry in my apartment where I am not allowed to have a washer or dryer. This is what I have done that works really well:

I bought the Wonder Washer, but the Wonderwash (laundry-Alternative brand) is a good choice also.

I bought the large spin dryer(Laundry-Alternative brand)which gets most of the water out of the garments. I bought the large one because I want to spin dry sheets.

I bought the Vapper pants dryer and the Vapper shirt dryer (laundry-Alternative brand) These are amazing and fast. I took my t-shirts out of the spin dryer, waited about an hour and put them on the Vapper. It took about 2 minutes max for them to dry without any wrinkles left. I dried them one at a time. I did not even use the outer plastic cover. The Vapper is like a blow up doll when drying with the hair dryer...

"Thought it would be handy to have since i work on the road, basically i paid $30 for two chinese sheets of plastic which do not work. After removing a thin sweatshirt from a washing machine's spin cycle, the shirt is still damp after 20 minutes with a 2000 watt hair dryer.

Tried the spin cycle again and dried it in 8 minutes applying the hair dryer directly to the sweatshirt.

In addition, I find it ironic I never received a reply about returning it, though Laundry Alternative did make an effort to make a new listing so my previous feedback would not be seen.

Their other products may be great. When purchasing this one, I had thoughts of purchasing a spin dryer. This product is not good at all. Their customer service may be worse.

I have consistently used my Vapper 4-6 times each month since I bought it one year ago. I just bought one as a gift for my sister. I love it because it is really the only way to dry or freshen some detailed tee-shirts or embellished shirts in a way that keeps them looking like new. Even if I hang dry or tumble dry on low, some shirts remain wrinkled or start to look shabby very quickly. I would not suggest using the Vapper for oxford dress shirts to be worn in a formal or executive setting but I use the Vapper on casual button-down oxford shirts. They look great, "put-together", not sloppy. I have also successfully "blocked" sweaters using the Vapper.

I keep the Vapper in a drawer near my hair dryer. It folds into a very small space--I never use the clear plastic cover that goes over the clothes...only the red part. I put my shirt on the Vapper and hang it on a hook on my wall. I spritz the shirt with water and connect the hair dryer. By the time I am out of...

Although I purchased this unit from another source, I wanted to leave a review here because many folks look at Amazon for reviews even if they decided to purchase a product elsewhere.

First, you should know I use a manual wheelchair full-time for mobility AND I am short-statured. Every place I've lived that has had laundry facilities in the unit has provided top-loading washers. In the house I'm renting now, the top-loading washer and dryer were installed in two closets, five feet apart. You should also note this washer and dryer were older units that had the controls on a panel on the back edge of each unit.

This made doing laundry a real issue for me. To remove the clothes from the washer, I had to use a pair of tongs (one item at a time), then transfer the damp clothes to the dryer on my lap. Back and forth, back and forth, over and over again. Because I couldn't reach the controls, I had to stand up on my wheelchair footrest and s-t-r-e-t-c-h my arm as far as...

We live in a small condo built in the 1960s with old plumbing and very expensive coin laundry. To fight the good fight against the man, we installed this Washer/Dryer unit in our bathroom and could not be happier with the unit!

When I was researching this unit, here are the things that I was wondering about that I hope will save you some time:

- The washer/dryer plugs into a standard 3 prong U.S. outlet. The same outlet that charges your iPhone will power your washer/dryer.

- It doesn't need to vent to the outside!

- You can put in a load of laundry, have it wash, then dry on its own without having to push buttons or move anything between cycles. It works with 80% of cycles with few exceptions (bedding mode being one of them).

- Washing is normal speed, drying takes forever. While washing might take an hour, it could take 4-5 hours for the load to dry. It's not uncommon to have a wash/dry load take 5.5 - 6 hours. For me, I don't...

I live in a small apartment and didn't want to lose valuable space on a large washer and dryer, so upon doing some research decided on this unit. I have now had this machine for a year and a half. At first, it was a nightmare! It was incredible difficult to level properly, and during the first few washes it literally JUMPED across the room. I purchased this stand to hold my Haier portable washer (HLP21N0 and new Haier portable dryer (HLP140E). On the whole, I agree with the other reviews about this product being durable, sturdier than it looks, and easy to install. I wanted to say a few words about the limitations of this particular set-up when used with Haier products, instead of Avanti appliances - and I realize it was created to work with the Avanti products, so this is about "off label" use, in a sense.

Firstly, know that the Haier dryer's width fits on this shelf, BUT it is a perfect fit - almost too perfect. There is about an inch on either side in terms of the length, but the front of the dryer, where the door is, doesn't have a whole lot of clearance. I am making it work - but when opening/closing the door, I am ALWAYS certain to put my right hand against the dryer so I don't inadvertently put pressure on it and risk pulling it off the shelf. My biggest beef with this product are the instructions. I figured it out but it was weired, I had to do it by site. Me being a genious, of course I created a "rickety mess". I was a little taken back by the top shelf and wheather it would support my dryer. Happily everything worked out fine. Review : Fantastic washer!!!

I have had this washer for about a week now, and it does a fantastic job. It is very quiet, it's much faster than I thought it was going to be (with the quick wash function), and it cleans exceptionally well. I can see why Consumer Reports listed it as one of their top washers.

Other things I like: It plays a little tune when the wash load is finished. It uses a small amount of water compared to my last washer, which is great. The programmed settings are numerous and you really don't need to select a custom anything. Oh, the washer drum is also HUGE! You could probably fit a king sized comforter in there with no problem whatsoever. LG has made a fantastic piece of machinery.

I will try to update as I get more experience with this washer, but so far this is easily the best washer I have ever had or have come in contact with.

I bought both the Samsung washer and dryer back on 11/26/12. Although the DRYER hasn't given me any trouble, the WASHER has had to be serviced THREE TIMES in a YEAR!!! I stupidly did NOT get the extended warranty and the cost for repairs to these machines almost meets the cost of a NEW machine.
I'm stuck. I can't get an extended warranty now since it is just over a year old, but please don't make the same mistake as me. I usually like Samsung products (phones, TVs, etc.) but this time they messed up royally!! And, since I can't afford a new machine right now, it looks like I'll be heading to the Laundromat now....
PLEASE, don't be fooled by the positive comments you see on this machine...it doesn't stand the test of time (not even a YEAR).

Review : Junk!

Failed after 6 mos, the wash tub looks like it was imbalanced during the wash and and initiated self destruct sequence! Plastic pieces in the wash tub, the upper flange is worn away as well as top of the tub. The stainless base of the tub seperated from the plastic surround and caused a razor sharp circle of death that destroyed some clothing...I work in the plastics industry and can tell you this is a poor design and poorly made plastic parts... I am waiting on the warranty battle over the cost of the repairs, I did not buy the extended warranty based on its "10 year" warranty from the manufacturer. Found it did not clean very well or rinse completely on top of it. I am anticipating going back to the standard agitator model ala' Speed Queen which are still built in the US with metal components .

Review : Undependable Life Expectancy. Didn't Last 2 Year

Purchase this washer July 2012. Now it's April 2014. The auto-balance worked so poorly, the "Plastic" bracket that held the water pump broke which subsequently tore the hose off the tub and leaked all the water. A real mess. My wife commented the auto water level does not put enough water in the tub. She constantly had to stop it because the racket was so loud she thought it was about to explode. Apparently the auto balance does not work correctly either. I did install a new motor I purchased. The wire to the motor kept breaking. (6 Times.) I finally had enough and rolled the thing out on the drive way knowing a "SCRAP" man would get it. This Samsung washer was the worst I've had in 40 years. Kenmore here I come.......Samsung - never again.

Review : Fabulous Little Machine
My office is far away from home and for that reason, I rent a small apartment near work so I am not on the road for 3 hours a day, sleep-deprived. I've been either hauling huge loads of laundry home, where I have a large washer, or going to the local laundromat, neither of which is something I enjoy doing. The local laundry is not only expensive, but filthy and I generally have to clean the machines before I use them -- and even then, things don't come out too clean. After hearing a lot of good comments about the Pandas, I decided to get this little machine.

It arrived today and I'm having a blast washing everything dirty I can find in the apartment. Clothes and towels come out very clean and the spin cycle will get your clothes as dry as the spin in a commercial washer. Socks that I had assumed were just soiled beyond hope are clean for the first time in months of washing them at the laundromat. After you hang your wash, it takes about half an hour for your shirts...

I was SO excited to receive this little thing. We live in a very small apartment and were spending a lot of money at the laundromat, considering the costs of washing, drying, time, and commuting (the only useable laundromat was about 15-20 minutes a day). We were spending approximately 45.00 a week on the laundromat, all told. I ordered this model after reading reviews and looking up reviews on YouTube so I could see exactly how it worked.
Used the machine immediately upon arrival (it arrived very quickly...about 4 business days). The first few washes did create a "plastic" smell but this odor did not bleed into the clothes. I think it was the same as breaking in a new coffee machine. After several washes now, the smell is gone. I did find it easier to put it in a stationary location, on top of a shelf bought specifically to accommodate the gravity draining system. This works best for me and I use a bucket to fill and empty it. Usually two buckets full does it, but...

I've had this little washer for maybe 3 weeks. I loved it! did about 8 small loads of clothes, came out clean and it's actually fun to be "involved" and in control of the washing cycle. ok so why 3 stars?

Well: 1-My spin dryer knob decided to break-and no I was not rough with it ( I'm a dainty little thing and easy on everything I touch:) so now I have to use pliers to turn the little silver thing inside, on and off for spin drying. They should invest in stronger attachment of the plastic knobs.

2-As I'm sure most of you have noticed it's annoying to know that water is still left in the tub on the bottom when finished draining, no matter how much I try to drain it....so I just get the most out that I can-and keep the lids up for a few days so as to...I don't know, not mildew or something.

I'm currently still waiting for a larger twin tub washer (danby-10 pound capacity) to be delivered it should be arriving by next week. I wanted to get the...

There're numerous attributes about the Avanti portable dryer model, D-110-1 and some not so great. First, the unit is very light weight (40 lbs) which makes it very portable. I purchased a dryer venting box for inside venting, but found I didn't need it. This unit doesn't put off much heat or moisture(less than a small pot of boiling water) or lint, since it has duel filters(more on these later). The amount of heat is much less than a full size dryer yet gets the clothes dry in a gentle but fairly decent time frame. It helps to dry, similar materials together, keeping in mind jeans will take a bit longer. Clothes come out wrinkle free, and not burning hot like larger dryers, which means much less damage to your clothes. It's a fairly impressive dryer. Never over-fill the dryer, clothes will not dry in a timely fashion. The dryer does not have a dryer signal to alert you upon completion of the cycle. But it does have Hot, Warm and Air Only cycle plus a cool down setting to keep your...

I've used apartment sized washer and dryers for many years. In April, 2012, after 6 years, my trusty little Haier dryer just couldn't take it any more and died. I would have purchased a new Haier, but Amazon had the Avanti, on Prime, for the same price. I decided to try the Avanti after reading a ton of reviews.

The unit was delivered on the 26 of April. At first, I was pleased -- it seemed to dry a bit faster, and was a bit larger capacity than my old Haier. 3 months later, a loud noise started -- it sounded as if it had a bad bearing. The sound was so loud that if you stood in the same room, you couldn't hear my teenagers music playing full blast in the next room. Seriously freaking loud. Upon arrival the box looked a little banged up so having read that some had problems I had my husband unscrew the back to make sure the drum was not hitting the sides of the dryer. The drum was indeed very close to one of the sides so he adjusted it to be more centered.

VENTING
YOU WILL NEED to purchase an indoor dryer vent also referred as a Lint Trap Kit OR if you have a window, you just need the flexible aluminum duct. Not venting into something will spread a thin layer of filter dust and more importantly is a bit dangerous since the lint is flammable. Unfortunately the exhaust "mouth" of the vent is oval and not the same shape as your standard aluminum duct. What I did was to...
